BUSD Celebrates Classified School Employees Week 2021

Bassett Unified Celebrates our essential workers during Classified School Employee Week! We thank you for all your hard work and for the dedication and love you bring to our campuses and offices!

In a typical year, classified employees are recognized as integral to the success of students and public education. From transporting and feeding students to teaching them vital skills and ensuring that schools and community colleges are operating smoothly, classified employees have earned respect as educators and partners in the education community.

This year, however, classified employees have stepped up to the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic and proven to be essential workers serving our students and schools like never before.

Custodial staff have kept our campuses clean and safe from a deadly virus. Food service workers have prepared meals for students and other community members in need of food. Bus drivers have delivered books and meals to students. Office staff have worked diligently to connect teachers with students studying remotely, while technical staff have equipped them with the technology they need to learn. Paraeducators are supporting students as they overcome the challenges of distance learning. Meanwhile, school safety officers and other classified workers are patrolling our schoolgrounds to keep them safe and secure.

No matter what their role is classified employees are the Essential Workers, Getting it Done.
